About Us
Family tradition
Our house is located in a quiet part of the village of Barbat, not far from the sea, promenade, beaches and restaurants. The house is surrounded by a large garden with plantations of seasonal vegetables, flowers and fragrant herbs and an olive grove.
We have been renting apartments for many years, and the tradition has existed since childhood when we learned the true values, wishes and needs of our guests with our parents. We are communicative and social, we speak three foreign languages, German, Italian and English, and we are at your disposal for any questions, advice or information.
We look forward to your arrival,
Dolores and Joško Žigo
Barbat
Barbat is a small and quiet village with a rich fishing and agricultural tradition that stretches along the southwest coast of the island of Rab.
It is sheltered from the open sea by the island of Dolin, which, considering today's more tourist orientation, makes it an ideal place for a vacation even in periods of the year with more unstable weather.
A promenade stretches along the coast, where there are numerous pebble beaches on the sea side, and on the coastal side gardens that fill the air with the scents of flowers, indigenous plants and herbs such as immortelle, lavender and rosemary. The whole atmosphere is additionally enriched by the sound of the sea and the smells of local delicacies from the kitchens of the restaurants located along the promenade itself.
Grad Rab
The city of Rab
The picturesque old town of Rab, after which the island got its name, is most recognizable for its four bell towers, which make the town look like a sailing ship with four masts.
The history of the city goes back to pre-Roman times, and the foundations of the present appearance date back to the Romanesque era. Stone alleys and Venetian architecture of sacred buildings and elegant palaces and panoramic views leave an unforgettable impression.
The old town is best experienced in the summer months during the "Rapska fjera" event.
Hundreds of costumed participants take part in the event, who then turn the historic core of Rab into a live stage where the medieval way of life is revived by staging numerous ancient customs and crafts.
